I think I'm far of Skins mentality, I feel disappointed when I see teenagers drinking, partying and having (or talking) sex all the time lol. ^^
That's why I prefer funny series that are not always realistic (like The Simpsons, South park, The big bang theory, Friends and much more).

I don't really like skins tv show either i can't get into this humor :S That's too unsubtle to me. I saw a tv ad for dollhouse and i recognized the main actress from "tru calling"'s tv show. I think i'm gonna watch it on the web
Oh and i heard tf1 will broadcast "private practice" tv show soon can't wait to see that (i loved addison character from grey's A')

Like Maelie, I've been living in England for a year (same year) and I really miss my English life, talking, thinking, listening, dreaming in English. Just can't wait to be in February to go back to an English-speaking country! And hope i'll be able to stay and live over there. Don't like living in France.

I think i understand you i don't like living in France either for personal and professional reasons. But for the most important to me for the culture. I'm not saying France is an awful country etc but it doesn't fit me i feel sad, depressed, i feel lock in a box. and i love speaking english because that's a language i like to explore and understand. Understand why people say this instead of that, where some word comes from etc. Personally i'd like to in USA (and Japan) and discover the whole country.

Wow ! This topic is a smart idea !
I've been praticising my English more and more these days, because I've met with exchange students spending one year in my school, and although I am able to have a conversation in English, I always feel like my English is terrible, compared to everyone else. So, good way to keep practising.

Plus, I'm going abroad for one year next year - didn't choose where yet, I've be hesitating between Australia and the East Coast of the US. I've got to make a decision before December and feel like I'll never be able to decide... But either way, I'll have courses in English, so I'd better be prepared.

I love this idea.
I really dislike the fact that in medical studies (1st year) we don't have any english lessons. I think that is really important.

I got a question, a doubt: how do you say "à partir de mainteanant" in english?

I would say 'for now', which means something like 'à présent'.

Well, to be honest, I don't really know myself! But I can just say that when I was in England, I felt that people were less stressed, they were friendly. I really really had a great time there and I cried way more when I came back to France than when I left it! lol. And I like the fact I can speak English everyday, I really miss it here, feel like I'm losing everything I know... And also, I realised that I don't have any real link with France. Well I've got my friends and family, but I can speak to them with Skype, can phone them, etc. I didnt miss France, the French way of life.

Ohh this topic is a great idea...
This year i have to improve my english because of the exams. I put all my hopes in this subject. Actually, i'm not scared about writing. To me, it's more easier to write than speak because if you don't remember a word anymore or if you don't know how you can say something, you can find the solution quickly. Explain with other terms, without showing your hesitation. But, english is primarily a spoken language, therefore i fully understand that we must try it. I really would like to be a journalist, so english will be important for my future, for my job. I have to be fluently, that's why when i will be to the university i plan to go abroad for one year or a little more.
Otherwise, we are finally on holidays but i'm a bit angry. I wanted to see all people whose i couldn't spend time lately (I'm not sure about this sentence. I tried to say "je voulais voir tous les gens avec qui je n'ai pas pu passer du temps dernièrement" but "avec qui" bothered me).. But, i have a lot of homework, especially in philosophy and consequently, i have the impression to do only that. Fortunately, i go this friday in the north (Cabourg near Caen) for about three days. Can't wait for this moment. I wish the weather will be good, blue sky and sun, sun, sun. Because, be on holidays with rain and cold temperatures, no thanks.

So, if you want to be totally satisfied, you should go abroad and you can also write and talk. But, i believe that i've read post from you on Madmoizelle and you've already plan to go somewhere the next year? I'm not sure, maybe i make a mistake telling this.
