Greta_Garbo: I went to England just after I finished the Bachelor's degree, and I went as an assistant. When I was doing the Bachelor, my university only offered 2 posts as Erasmus students in Ireland (for about 300 students, haha... ), but I prefered to apply as an assistant in order to be sure to go abroad and also to get money! lol.
Jehn (never know where the H is! lol): Unfortunately I'll be there only 1 semester :/ To go for a whole year, I would have had to leave in July, and I got the answer in March, so didnt have enough time to send all the papers back, etc. And to be honest, I'm still filling papers and sending things to Auckland! Anyway, the semester ends at the end of June and I plan to go to Australia and to make a tour of NZ in July. So...

Your plans are so tempting Tangerine, I wish I could travel that much. I plan to spend a year in Ireland or another English speaking country for my third year of studies, I can't wait!
(I hope my English isn't too bad each time I write here...)

Yeah, I know I am very lucky to be able to go there! The agreement between my university and Auckland is very recent (that's the 2nd time students from my uni go to Auckland). When I saw that when I came back from the UK, i just thought "OMG, I have to try to go there! I just can't let this amazing opportunity go!"
I must admit I'm starting to freak out (being so far, on my own,...) but at the same time that's amazing, so I just try to leave my fears aside and to realise how lucky I am!
Anyway, I'll just say that if you have any opportunity to spend some time in an English-speaking country, or even any country, just take it!

ya why not ? I am so happy to see girls practice English as well because at school.. I was the only, The other were not lovers of the english' language.. but every day I come here and I read every comments to learn new words or espressions because during the studies that I do there is no english. fisnished. yeah it's cruel... now welcome to my life mathematics... :errf:

Hello, I love english too. And I traveled only in this foreign country but it is just the begin of my life, you probably know what I mean?
I went in Liverpool, last Summer! My favourite place is the "Beatles Museum" because you have the feeling to be in old days! (scene of bars - a café!) and the more important is that you can listen to rock of the 60's and understand easily why the teenage girls were mad of "these four boys" at that time.
I would like to chat with you more often when I would have time!

I have an English test on monday. That's why I'm reading The Time magazine articles right now. I've noticed one thing, english-speaking journalists use a much more simple language than their french counterparts. One doesn't need to be a perfectly fluent english speaker to understand the article or at least the general idea of the columnist.
Sometimes, I can't help thinking what it would be if one of these articles would have been written in french...

I learned english by myself (thanks to the tvshows!) and i just love it! I could speak english all day (i even dream in english), unfortunately my family and most of my friends don't understand it! i'm thinking about going in NY for a year or more.

I have a terrible English accent, but when I try, I try to have a British accent, because the US accent is chewing-gum to me.

After, my vocabulary is more the British vocabulary learned in school, mixed with American words from TV shows.

Thanks to TV shows, I got an impossible american accent ! That makes everyone laugh in my class !

I have a British English. Don't really like the American accent either. But sometimes I have a US pronunciation and use US words and I really need to change that because I'd like to have a coherent English.
When I was in the UK, someone asked me where I was coming from, so I answered that I was French, and the lady told me "aaah I understand now! I thought you were British but found it weird you sometimes have an American accent!"

But I'm "glad" because I caught some of the typical pronunciations from the area I lived in!

Hi girls !
I just post on the topic "MadmoiZelle habla español" so it's difficult to switch to one language to another. I love these topics i'ts a very good idea because I don't have opportunities to speak English apart from school.
I'd love to go one year in England to improve my english. I went there twice whith my parents and I very enjoy it ! My father live 5 or 6 years in England when he was young, he's fluent but we never speak English at home. I understand better than I write (I'm not sure my sentence is right ? Well, I'm not sure ALL my post is correctly writen )

This year, i don't have any english classes.
There is nobody i can speak english with. I am so bad in writing and speaking.
Thanks to books, Tv shows and movies, my comprehension is quite good but i miss conversations in english.

I can't wait until i am back in Dublin. It takes so long. Tic-Tac Tic-Tac.

I'am wondering, what if i did an internship in ireland next year? I know i'll be unpaid there but... I really enjoyed to work abroad last year and it could be a good way to get a little more experience.

The point is : i do not know any big irish company to work with. Just american companies. It would be fine too. But i'd rather learn how is the irish way of management.

It sounds like a big dream for now ^^ It seems to be so much more difficult than to find a little summer job!
